FireClass Approval Certifications
FireClass products meet relevant approval requirements under the framework of the EN54 standards. They have independent third party certification and are CE marked under the CPR (Construction Products Regulation). A brief summary of these certifications is detailed below.
Third party certification
Certification of the FireClass range of products has been awarded by BRE Global Ltd. BRE Global issues certification for fire detection products under its LPCB brand to EN 54 and Loss Prevention Standards, commonly referred to as LPS. All products with an LPCB certificate bear the LPCB mark and are listed on www.RedBookLive.com. LPCB has been working closely with UK industry and government for 100+ years to set standards around fire and security products. They have their own set of standards (LPS), but in more recent times, at least for Europe, from a certification perspective, industry is driven more by European Directives and the associated harmonized EN standards (EN 54).
Test reports are issued under the BRE Global name. BRE Global carries out product assessments and tests to the EN 54 series of standards, and to the standards issued by the BRE Global (Loss Prevention Standards), among others.
Construction Products Regulation (CPR)
Construction Products Regulation (CPR) is an EU Directive requiring all construction products covered by a harmonised European standard to be CE marked. An application is made to the Notified Body to carry out the assessment. In the UK BRE Global is our preferred supplier, BSI is another UK Notified Body, and VdS can offer this in Germany. CE Marking services at BRE are carried out under the BRE Global brand.
